Went on an adventure today over into the Jemez Mountains. When I left Los Alamos there were dark clouds to the West and the North, thought I would get rained on. the clouds came down from the north with lots of thunder and then they turned and headed East. To bad because the mountains could use some more rain. All an all it was a nice enjoyable day. There were lots of wild flowers blooming just add to the beautiful day.

This is within 1/2 mile of my hike on 04-30-12 Cerro Grande Trail posted here a while back. The pictures of the rain clouds to the north are Cerro Grande.

I'm going to have to get a book so that I know the names of the flowers.

This is where most of the photographs were taken, didn't walk to far today, just a lot of getting down on my knees to take the photo.

This is where the Thunder was coming from

The burn scar on the grass is all thats left of a large tree that burned

The following pictures are about 5 miles from Los Alamos, just off the road. I went up this way the day that they opened the road after the fire last July. This tree was like that then, its still just sitting there after snow in the winter and the wind. How long will it last?

The photography club that I belong to went on an outing yesterday.

We traved up north past Abiquiu, first stop was the Echo Amphitheater just past the entrance to Ghost Ranch off Highway 84 about 2 blocks The Second stop was between the turn of to go across Abiquiu Dam and Ghost ranch, about halfway between them. Still on Highway 84.

These are at the first location. It is a hugh Amphitheater that Echos thus the name "Echo Amphitheater".

This is the second location.
